Selecting the correct golf club for your manner of play is critical in being able to play a great round of golf. You need to know which clubs to buy and of course how to use them once you bought them. The standard golf set includes three woods, ten irons and a putter. Whether or not your a beginner, intermediate or advance golfer, this article will help you select what type of club to choose.
For beginners, buying shorter clubs will maximize your potential to have more precise club-to-ball contact. Woods heads are larger and flatter than irons and recommended for beginners because it will increase the distance of the ball when struck. One specific club type suggestion for beginners is the mallet putter. Mallet putters are very well aligned and will make it easier for shorter more precise putts.
Intermediate-level golfers will have slightly different priorities when choosing their golf clubs. Intermediate players will need to choose clubs that allow them more precise control of the ball.
You should still have an oversized driver that will allow you to make a good amount of contact with the ball. At this level of play, the shaft selection starts to play an increased role in ball control. Select a shaft that will complement your swing speed. While you may have gotten quite comfortable with the same putter you used as a beginner, you might also want to branch out by selecting a maxed mallet putter.
An advanced golfer has a much better understanding of what it takes to make long or precise shots. Advanced players will start to add their own style and finesse into the swing by choosing the correct clubs. Using irons for advanced players allows for better left and right movement control of the ball.
Locate a driver with a bit less loft (degree of the angle at which the face of the club lies relative to a perfectly vertical level). In selecting a driver, you must really take into account your swing speed; spend some time checking out a number of different drivers and don’t buy until you are completely comfortable with it.
The selection of your clubs is the probably the single most important decision you will face as a golfer. So, take some time to figure out your level of playi, and then choose your golf clubs accordingly. Club selection is going to determine how well you play so it’s important to take the time and select the right clubs.
